The three pricing models

Mass texting services price in one of three ways:

ModelHow it worksWatch out for
Pay-as-you-goNo monthly fee; roughly $0.04 to $0.06 per text. Good for rare, irregular sending.Gets expensive fast with any regular volume; usually few platform features
Monthly creditsA monthly plan includes a block of message credits. Most business platforms, including Quick Send Business, work this way.Whether the number, seats, and features are included or extra
Contact-basedPrice scales with how many contacts you store, sometimes combined with credits.Growing your list raises your bill even if you send the same volume

For anyone sending monthly or more often, credit plans are almost always the cheapest per message. See how the models play out against specific vendors on our comparison pages.

Credits and segments explained

Texting platforms meter usage in credits, and credits map to SMS segments. One segment is up to 160 characters of plain (GSM) text. Go over 160 characters and the message is billed as two segments, then three, and so on. Emojis and special characters switch the encoding and lower the per-segment limit to 70 characters.

  • One SMS segment to one recipient = 1 credit.
  • A 200-character SMS = 2 segments = 2 credits per recipient.
  • A photo message (MMS) = 3 credits per recipient on Quick Send Business.
Quick math: a 150-character text to 1,000 people uses 1,000 credits. The same message at 200 characters uses 2,000 credits. Keeping messages inside one segment is the single biggest cost lever you control.

What plans actually cost

Quick Send Business plans scale by monthly credit volume. Every plan includes the full platform: campaigns, the team inbox, CSV import, analytics, MMS, at least one toll-free number, and carrier registration support. Current plans (see pricing for live details):

PlanPrice / moIncluded creditsEffective cost per credit
Business 500$25500$0.050
Business 1K$391,000$0.039
Business 2.5K$792,500$0.032
Business 6K$1496,000$0.025
Business 12K$27912,000$0.023
Business 25K$54925,000$0.022
Business 50K$1,09950,000$0.022
Business 100K$2,199100,000$0.022

The effective per-credit price drops as you move up the ladder, so upgrading is a real volume discount, not just a bigger cap.

Numbers, registration, and overages

Phone numbers

Every Quick Send Business plan includes at least one dedicated toll-free number at no extra charge. Optional local area-code numbers require 10DLC carrier registration at $10/mo when you submit. Extra numbers are available as an add-on. See toll-free vs 10DLC for how to choose.

Carrier registration

Toll-free verification is included: no registration fee and no monthly compliance fee. Local 10DLC registration carries the $10/mo fee above, which mirrors what carriers and The Campaign Registry charge for maintaining a campaign.

Overages

If you send past your included credits, optional overages keep campaigns running at a per-credit rate that is shown on each plan (from $0.040 on the entry plan down to $0.022 at high volume). Overages are off by default, so you can never be surprised: sending simply pauses until credits reset or you upgrade.

Hidden fees to watch for

When comparing services, read past the headline price for these:

  • Contact caps. Some entry plans include only 500 contacts, and passing the cap can triple the monthly price even if your sending volume never changes.
  • Telecom surcharges. A per-message carrier fee added on top of the advertised plan price, common on budget entry plans.
  • Per-seat charges. Team members priced as paid add-ons rather than included in the plan.
  • Number fees. A dedicated or toll-free number billed separately from the plan.
  • Forced overages. Auto-billed overage credits at high rates with no way to cap spending.

Quick Send Business pricing is the plan price plus optional overages you explicitly turn on. Nothing else. See the vendor-by-vendor breakdowns on our compare pages, or the full field in the best mass texting services roundup.
